Sassan Behjat is an internationally known Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) consultant, specializing in integrative and homeopathic medicine. He has on numerous occasions served as an expert advisor to the World Health Organization (W.H.O) on CAM related projects assignments. He has been a recipient of ‘Dr. Arthur L. Bloomfield Award in 2006 for Excellence in Medical Education’ by the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education.
Sassan serves on the board of directors of California Homeopathic Medical Society (CHMS). The CHMS was founded in 1877 in response to the need for a professional association of homeopathic physicians. Today it is a non-profit, tax exempt, California corporation which has extended its membership to other states in the United States and overseas. Sassan also moderates Homeotherapeutics website and HomeoMe! open online forum, dedicated to exchange of personal and professional homeopathic experiences among homeopaths, medical doctors and public health professionals. He encourages and advocates documenting successes and learning from failures.
Education and training:
Sassan has graduated from a 6½ year professional university degree program in Homeopathic Medicine, India. This rigorous training also included 1 year of internship in a teaching hospital, covering both clinical and classical homeopathic training. Later, he pursued his graduate studies in Public Health (Masters in Public Health, MPH) from Boston University, and Public Administration (Masters in Public Administration) from California State University, with an emphasis on public policy. As a commitment to continuing education, Sassan has completed several professional development courses from Harvard University, Tufts University and UC Berkeley (in clinical research, biosciences regulatory affairs and biotechnology business & marketing). Sassan is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Administration, USA.
Sassan advocates the use of both classical and modern homeopathy. At the core of his care and attention, is a commitment to improving and enhancing the self-healing and regulatory powers of the body.

Sassan offers homeopathic consultancy services to individuals and families, and professional regulatory conultancy to educational institutions, non-profit as well as for-profit organizations. His main domain of expertise has been development of policies and regulatory framework for an integrative healthcare system. He also provides guidelines on regulatory and business development strategies to companies specializing in alternative and natural medicinal products.

Sassan is serving on the TCAM Policy and regulatory affairs Council for Dubai Healthcare City; a strategic partner of Harvard University (www.dhcc.ae). He has given several presentations and talks on homeopathy in international conferences and contributed to the CAM regulatory documents published and available as policy reference material.
